CALLING ALL CLANSMEN AND WOMEN!!!
The St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit has been proud to be involved in the concept and development of the proposed Michigan tartan, woven by Alpena artist, Kati Meek, since its inception. We have spearheaded the efforts to have this tartan become a recognized symbol of Michigan. We support the official adoption of this tartan, that is considered a gift to the people of the State of Michigan, as an official symbol of this great state. This tartan represents the unity of the people and the beauty of Michigan. It can be worn by anyone interested in representing Michigan. In support of this measure, Representative Richard LeBlanc (District 18, D-Westland) has introduced House Bill 4110, and it is under consideration by the House Committee on Government Operations.
The following legislators are members of that committee:
- Representative Bob Constan (District 16 - D), chairperson (517) 373-0849 bobconstan@house.mi.gov
